yawn....... the natural shift of petrol prices isn't news...0
-
Morrisons by me dropped 2p off last week. But they have now gone back up 1p...0
-
blah blah blah0
-
they make massive publicity about a small 1.6% price cut but within days of their last 3p drop it had gone back up by 2p and went past the original price within 2 weeks.0

AARRGGHH!!
I hate this recycled propaganda over petrol price wars! Big announcements from the main players about fairly insignificant cuts but never a dinkin' tweetie bird when the prices climb back towards (and then beyond!) what they were when the "price wars" start - as they always do within a week or two!
Sorry - needed to vent that...0 -
Remember the uproar when people though the price was going to go over a pound a litre................yet here we are sucking it up like good little boys and girls when it's up to £1.40+0

The whole thing is a cartel and it really annoys me - apart from one independent who undercuts the supermarkets and major chains by 0.1-1.1p, they all charge the same price and I have to travel 20 miles to get it 1-2p cheaper. Petrolprices.com is a good idea but is utterly useless round here as it doesn't even include the one garage that charges less (because they don't take fuel cards).2kWp Solar PV - 10*200W Kioto, SMA Sunny Boy 2000HF, SSE facing, some shading in winter, 37° pitch, installed Jun-2011, inverter replaced Sep-2017 AND Feb-2022.0

it made me laugh reading the comment from tescos.
"As Britain’s biggest petrol retailer, more motorists will make savings at the pumps at Tesco than at any other fuel retailer.”
what a load of rubbish! they are the dearest supermarket fuel retailer in oldham!
asda tops the list as the cheapest!
then its sainsburys.
then morrisons.
lastly its tesco's who are up to 3p dearer than the others.
some mainstream petrol retailers are cheaper than tesco's.
yet tesco's have a sign on the roof of the forecourt saying "helping you spend less every day"
what a load of rubbish. not on fuel it seems!
tesco's in recent years seems to have sat back when it comes to competing with the other supermarkets.
i've not bothered shopping there since 2011.0 -
What annoys me is that price fixing between competing companies is supposed to be illegal.
So how come they all announce price cuts at the same time? - Thats price fixing.
Does the OFT do a thing? No.0 -
yet tesco's have a sign on the roof of the forecourt saying "helping you spend less every day"
Forgive me if I'm wrong but I thought their motto was "Every little helps" ?
Question is who does it help.. Tesco or us? It hasn't felt like it helps us for a number of years yet Tesco seem do be doing reasonably well.0
