No proof of address, any ideas?

Why have you never bothered to register to vote? I thought this was a legal obligation0

You must fill out and return registration forms if you receive them, otherwise you could be fined.
Although I havent heard of any prosecutions, probably difficult to prove the person "received" them.0 -
So all those students who move house three times in as many years have to get a new passport and DL each time?
I left my parents' house in 2005 and just left things registered there, which made the most sense as I can always be reached via them. I've lived in four houses long-term since, and several shorter term. Surely no one changes everything each time?
It's generally accepted that students will have two addresses - a permanent home address and a temporary term time one - so they don't need to keep changing paperwork.
It is a nuisance if you're still living in short-term lets once you start working but those are the rules.0 -
I'm the OP - in the end I changed the address held by my other bank, who required no proof whatsoever, and then got a normal statement from them to give to the lender, which they accepted.0
