This has got me thinking. My son is about to go to uni (september-results permitting! We wish he would revise more though!!) and I have been looking at the SanDisk 2GB Titanium Cruzer U3 USB Flash Drive. I was going to buy 2 one for my daughter also. I like the fact that they are supposed to be "tough". The cheapest I can find is £33.93 for 2 inc postage. Does anyone know of anywhere cheaper or should I look at Corsair now I have read this thread. Cheers0

do you really need 2GB/4GB/8GB sticks?? That is a hell of a lot of data - if you lose it, it's gone. I'd recomend getting 4 or 5 smaller sticks (256mb, 512mb) in different colours so you can have one for each uni subject/course etc - thats what i did and when i lost one (or 3
) it wasnt a complete disaster - losing ALL my files would have been.
Worth thinking about if you're going off to uni perhaps
I'd recomend the same for digi camera cards too - i can't understand why anyone (except maybe professional studio photographers taking thousands of pictures a week) would need a 4GB/8GB card.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Good point BBB but knowing my kids they would have a problem looking after one stick let alone 3,4 or 50 -
Just found dabs selling the corsair 2gb for £12.69 inc vat which means £28.62 inc postage for 2. I think I may go for them.0

Hi-
Play.com seem to have pretty good prices on the sandisk sticks, starting at 8 quid for the 1GB version.0 -
I have this from play.com

4gb for £17.99 - i've loaded a tonne of music onto it and i play it on my work pc.. saves keeping music on office equiptment.
I recently bought this for my gf's sister:

I'm happier with my 4gb one0 -
Has anyone used readyboost who can comment on how it improves performance? My pc has 1024 mb of ram and seems to run OK. If I plug in a 1gb usb stick would I see even better performance? Would a 1gb usb stick have the same effect as installing 1gb of additional memory?0

Thats a great point about the smaller memory sticks etc.
I use 4 512mb sticks and i once lost 1, if i had lost all 4 i would have been screwed over.
If you are doing this a good idea is the data travellers as they come in different colours although i use 7dayshop for my memory sticks and they seem fine.
About the 4gb/8gb cards, i can easily fill up 2 4gb cards a day with photos, just depends on the job i suppose..MSE is cool

I have ordered Integral USB flash drive from DirectPhoto for £14.99 inc vat (free delivery). Any body knows Integral's build and quality. Is it worth to keep it or order corsair from dabs/0
