Where have all the good cashback deals gone?

My contract comes up for renewal/notice soonish and I was looking around the usual sites for the cashback offers (e2save, one-stop, mobiles.co.uk etc).

When I took out my current contract (about 17 mths ago), there were loads of 99p/mth (by redemption) offers around and I got one with T-Mobile for 600 mins/500 texts/unlimited data.

The cheapest I can see now for an equivalent is around £7/mth after cashback now (on e2save). Is that the going rate at the moment for cashback deals?

Cashback deals are like buses - and this is the time you're left waiting at the stop. That's why I fill my boots whenever I can - regardless of the timing of existing contracts (or number) when the deals are like the ones you describe (i.e. where I can make a large enough profit - then I don't have to worry about minutes, bundles or phones for a LONG time).

For the first half of this year you'd have struggled to find any decent deals. Then up they popped, on an off, for the last three months or so (and yes, I did fill my boots to saturation point, though I'm hungry for more - my normal condition, I confess). The best deals faded away about a month ago - so you rather missed the boat by waiting until you are nearing the end of the contract (a mistake in my view, since the kind of deals we are looking for are basically free anyway and spreading them also evens out the cashback/profit nicely if you do have a few).

The number of minutes you've suggested won't be free or profitable right now (and, indeed, rarely is). The best is the £7.50 bundle (but BEFORE cashback - and there are a very few deals around still). I never advertise deals - mainly because I have several people I order for as well as myself and don't want to kill the golden goose for other peoples' lack of research or effort. If you look carefully you can still find a decent deal here or there - but not as good as before. That also assumes, of course, that you know what you're doing with cashback and follow the ground rules.
  • Has anyone taken up any good cashback deals lately?. I have been looking all evening and just can't find what I'm looking for.

My minimum requirements are 200+ mimutes, 1000 texts and bit of data. I do not care what the phone is. I would like to pay less than £4 after cashback.

Or as mobile junkie says.....have I missed the bus?

    What do people think......
Are there deals around? And where do you find them?

Thanks for reading. And thanks in anticipation for those prepared to share!

  • I don't generally advertise good deals - but this one isn't likely to be of interest to myself or the people I order for and it does meet your criteria!

Where have all the good cashback deals gone?

Reminds me of the old Pete Seger number "Where have all the flowers gone?"

The answer, in the original was "Girls have picked them every one".

Well, maybe the answer in this thread is "MJ's picked them every one" :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

But previous post would indicate not!
  • Well, I do my best if the deals are right! Have to make a profit AND get useful bundles!
