No, because all your phone does on wi-fi is connect to your router and ADSL line. Any device connected to that roter will be using bandwidth out of your 2GB allowance.
The 2GB 'free' is a pure bait and switch sales tactic, they don't seriously expect anyone to manage on 2GB pm these days.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

reason im on unlimited is because i went over my 2gb usage limit. Thought now i have smartphone i could just get it put back to 2gb. save myself 7.50. So i`d still be using up my 2gb usage?

Your smartphone is connecting by using the same wireless router as your PC or laptop, not by 3G. So yes, it all comes out of the same monthly cap.
The fact that you've gone over your 2GB cap rather proves my point.

So it would use it up just as quick as it would on the pc?

you are asking an open ended question
    what would use it?
    downloading,surfing or what?
if you download a file, its as big no matter what you use
browsing could be lighter vs the PC but not guaranteed
I can easily use my 1gb allowance on my phone a month.
2 GB all inclusive would be no use to me
  • If you're browsing on mobile versions of websites then you would use less data. However, if you're looking at youtube, iplayer etc you'll find there's not a great deal of difference and you'll be tearing through the data in much the same way as on your PC.
