I know I shouldn't give in and write about this.., I'm sure quite a few 'girls' who read this forum didn't deign to make a comment but here is one 'girl' who can do DIY better than most men. Its a case of having to, I'd hate depending on the idea of having a male friend/boyfriend who could do such things (and I'm sorry, only a few could).

I did as advised re changing locks.., looked it up on the net. Its really not hard. Men or women aren't born knowing how to change locks., we all have the same ability to learn regardless of gender.

Now I'll go into a corner and start knitting or sewing.

    You go girl.

...what ...go into that corner and get on with her handicrafts?;)
  • I think we all know some people conform to stereotypes and some don't.

I'm a man and couldn't ever imagine having any sort of success at DIY/changing locks.

My female OH does that sort of thing. I say I'm happy to pay a professional!

god - what have I started here?

a singles bar? a discussion on feminism? a diy advice forum? a debate on the intellectual short-comings (or otherwise) of blondes? a legal helpline?

Turning into quite an interesting thread - thanks, OP, for the opportunity!
