Ripped off by PC CALLOUT LTD

(there is an old thread on this but i thought they deserve a new one as they are still ripping people off)
I would like to alert the forum to a computer repair company called PC Callout Ltd . They sent one of their local engineers out to repair my computer on a ‘no fix no fee’ basis . the engineer said my motherboard & processor had gone and it would take 4-5 hours to fix it and cost £370 ! As this is more than a new computer would cost I refused , yet I was still forced to pay £60 fee as I hadn’t “given him the chance to fix it” !
When I took the computer into a local repair shop they said it was only the power pack (cost of repair ; £55) and there was nothing wrong with the motherboard or processor. Yet PC Callout Ltd completely refuse to refund my money , even though I have caught them out for fraud !
What a farce that fraudsters like this are allowed to operate in his country , even being allowed to use Government job centres (they have a record of employing staff and not paying them after weeks worth of work!) to perpetuate their crimes !
If your computer goes down , use a local shop as 2 other national companies were exposed on watchdog the other week, operating in a similar manner

Not quite sure what this has to do with Internet Access, it would be better in either the Techie or the Praise, Vents & Warnings forum.
  • Maybe enroll on a basic computer maintenance course at your local college too. You can fit a new PSU (power unit) yourself as it's not hard. Hope they fitted a decent one for the £55 and not some cheap one worth a tenner.

I used to contract for the bar stools years ago, they are operated from spain by Karen readman, and John. Their call center is a hired one from india.

ruth and another karen does the admin in the uk, they are okay to speak to. they do a lot of contract work for bt via anova (bt home it ) broadband setup.

Engineers are not verified, £15 per hour they get. they get milleage allowance, 15p per mile if 1 hour, over an hour they got 20p.

People were encouraged to sell parts as they got commision, I will re-confirm no qualifications are ever checked!

Their parts are way over priced.
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
