Chadwell Heath v Barking

Hello Everyone
Thanks ever so much for all your comments. I defintly decided against barking as I went to view a couple of flats and did not like the area at all. Chadwell heaht I was looking ot buy in featherstone court but i have now pulled out of it....i think there is a problem with the block as NONE of the flats are selling which is a little concerning for me. So now i am back to square one i think i am going to start to look more east on the central line onwards does anyone have any advice on which areas to go for and not to go for?
Thanks in advance

East on the central line is expensive. S.Woodford, Buckhurst Hill, Loughton v.expensive. Woodford not so, but not as nice either. Hainult/Grange Hill a good compromise, but steer clear of the Manford way area. Gants Hill and Newbury park are expensive and i've never really worked out why.
Have you looked at Romford, Gidea Park etc?...only another 5-10 mins from lvrpl st. As an example; 2 bed house in my road on for £210K. 10 mins to Romford mainline
I would suggest that one reason why Featherstone Close properties are not selling as well is becuase they are in Barking and Dagenham rather than Redbridge.0 -
Hello Damm
We have had this conversation before regarding gidea park and romford...i did look a properties...but i really want to be on a tube line mainly for work reasons etc. And I AM NOT conisdering barking now as i have viewed there and not at all happy with the area.
So not to sure what to do now i have got a few viewings arranged this weekend in Wallthamstow, chingford and newbury park. I think the only reason why NP is expensive is becuase it is on the central line!. Well i pulled out of featherstone court and the EA was not happy at all but to be honest i do not really care.....i only lost out on my vaulation fee and that was it..so i guess i got a lucky escape. I was just really concnerd about why none were selling as i found it very werid and i think you are right about it been in the b and d area not the redbridge side..
Any suggestions?
Thanks

This is a little biased but check barkingside out, I live there and although initially when i bought the house here i was just trying to get onto the ladder... although I'm very happy living here (last 3 years now)
5 mins from ilford and ilford lane for shopping. about 5 mins walk from barkingside tube (central line). Prices are as high as woodford side but its a nice area.
I notice next station down (Fairlop) there is a lot of development of new flats so maybe you might be able to check them out if your particularly interested in flats.ummm...0
