OP. Is this a situation where you've been 'made' to move due to a change in circumstances? IE no longer qualifying for a 3 bed property?0

I dont't know why, why you are informed to have 2 pets only..Put your hands away...0

when i filled out the application it says on there do you have pets if so please list them i did tell them i had the pets and they gave me the property knowing i had all 7 no its a totally different housing assoc in a total different area and theres only me and my partner in the 1 bed bungalow, it doesnt say anything about how many pets u can have, the housing officer came out and acknowledged i had stated on the forms and she said they knew full well we had 7 pets, she asked me what type of dogs they are so i told her she said well we will have to see about keeping the dogs just cos she hates dogs ,she turned up unannounced to tell me about the fate of the pets with a smile on her face telling me i have to get rid of some.i managed to save the dogs and 1 parrot who are elderly. she also rung me to tell me that if anything happens to one of the dogs they wont be granting me permission to replace it .0

Well, that last bit about not being allowed to replace the dogs if they die seems fair enough. What doesnt seem fair is that they knew you had the animals, you didnt conceal them and yet, this one individual can decide to arbitrarily have them destroyed (because that is the only realistic option). I would be writing to her manager to appeal this 'decision' and stating in no uncertain terms that you will not comply with this diktat.Debt Free! Long road, but we did it

When I applied to a HA it asked on the form what pets I had and when the tenancy was offered it was stated in there you were only allowed a max of 2 pets so I guess it's pretty standard.
A lot of tenants exceed the limit and never have any issues - I imagine it is only if you have pets which are troublesome to neighbours that anybody would find out.
You should probably appeal in writing this decision as it will then be looked at by somebody other than the housing officer who has been dealing with you. However there is a good chance they will say if you want the property you have to abide by their rules.
Being honest I would say I wouldn't be happy about a new neighbour moving in with the amount of pets you have.0 -
As there's nothing in the tenancy agreement (or, indeed, presumably, anything else you've signed) then I would suggest taking all your paperwork along to the CAB and getting them to write a letter telling the Housing Association to sod off (nicely!)
If there's nothing in your tenancy agreement about pets, then (as far as I understand the law) the housing officer can't tell you to get rid of your pets any more than she can tell you to get rid of a vase or item of clothing that isn't to her taste.0 -
its a semi detatched bungalow and only got 1 neighbour and as the bathroom and bedroom is joined on so not got no other neighbourWhen I applied to a HA it asked on the form what pets I had and when the tenancy was offered it was stated in there you were only allowed a max of 2 pets so I guess it's pretty standard.

I think you should put your concerns in writing to the Housing Association asking them to explain by what terms they are claiming you have to get rid of some of your pets.
You do, in my opinion, have too many animals for your property; and most private tenants have no luck getting their landlords to agree to even one animal, so you arent that badly off. Therefore why not suggest to them that you will eventually reduce the number you have?0
