How to keep you £50.00 P.A.Y.G Orange tarrif !

Had a quick look to seewhether this has been posted before, but couldn't find a relevant post so please accept my sincere apologies if it has.:o

I've just found this post on the smsmasters forum and accept no credit whatsoever for finding it. ;)

"As most Orange users already know, when you top up with a £50 top up card your tariffs change and you get your calls and txt msgs cheaper, Well if you want to keep that tariff then once u'v toped up DO NOT let it run down 2 £0.00 even if you have 1penny on and you top up with £5 then you still have the £50 tariff! As long as you have a little money on your fone you can top up any amount and you still get it all cheaper!".

I thought it was back in about 2001 when it changed. Prices more than doubled over night and 5p texts (on the £50 top up) went up to 12p. When this years textsaver runs out (I was lucky and ended up with a spare when they first came out) I'll be putting my Orange SIM in a blender and juicing it for all I can. Bar stewards.

Yeah, been a few years since this stopped.

I put £50 on sim card to get 5p texts and reduced price calls then the tos***s altered the T&Cs to put £50 on sim card and get 10% added free but stopped the 5p texts and cheaper calls.
I ended up with £40 odd on the sim card and no cheap calls or texts, even missed out on the 10% add on....double tos**rs.
At least I got something back off em with the textsaver until they too stopped that.
Needless to say I'm now no longer with Orange.
