Jobbingmusician: that sounds fun, how come I've never seen jobs like that?
It wasn't fun, actually - I sat there terrified (well, OK, anxious) that I wasn't going to get paid and I was spending my expenses for nothing! I also felt I had to write EVERYTHING down (the company suggested taking a crossword or something so you could take notes surreptitiously) to give them something to read! I was going to ring them this morning to 'fess up and discuss it with them, but to my relief they had marked my report and gave me a good score, so I think everything's OK :rolleyes:Ex board guide. i finally get all the orientation stuff sorted and today get an email with a fair few jobs in my area !
i was at the PC when the email came through, so i immediately log in and its showing no assignments under any of the locations stated in the emaileven though i had an email 30 seconds earlier telling me about all these jobs ! grrrrrrr
You'll find this happens all the time - the gapbuster emails are always well out of date. Just check the site every so often, and eventually you'll be luckyEx board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
I did 3 shops for GAP yesterday, and they didn't ask me to submit the receipts for some reason - for any of them. Is that just a glitch in their system or do they not always ask for receipts?
(It was a pain getting one of the receipts in the first place, they had to give me a handwritten one as couldn't get a proper one from the till...)0 -
I think some of the fast food places aren't expected to give receipts. If you want to double check, have a look at the 'My assignments' area of the website - I think this normally shows if they are waiting for a receipt from you.Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0

Just registered with TNS and got all my login details now so just waiting for my first assignment. Can I ask how often you check the websites for jobs as it seems they do go very quickly - is it worth checking a few times per day?
Also with one of the stores now instead of producing payment you have to produce a letter that explains who you are - how would you feel about that? Not one for my first time me thinks!
Thanks for any advice0 -

Haven't had the brief yet, though, so am not sure exactly what I'm supposed to be doing...
Regarding checking the websites, I'd say it's worth it doing it several times a day. GAP in particular seem to add jobs on at odd times, like 10 at nightAnd they do disappear so quickly, especially the RE and TNS ones

I had 2 corner shop-type ones, and another one that I'd always had to produce a receipt for before (the place where Pat works
), so don't know what's going on.
Expressed another 3 GAP assignments last night and they didn't ask for receipts again (even though the brief has big red writing all over about ensuring you get a receipt!)...
Bizarre, but never mind.0 -
