Maximising income - Mystery Shopping? Surveys?

Agreed - much much simpler to do online. You have until September 30th to do this if you want them to calculate your tax, and until Jan 31st otherwise. (I don't actually understand this, as they seemed to me to calculate my tax in Jan
)
HOWEVER, you do have to register in advance to use the online facility, so worth doing that fairly soon, once you have got all the documents you need.
I am a fan of including all the WORK I did in March, rather than stopping with all the payments I received in March, so that my self-employed tax year is the same as my employed tax year! So I have to wait for my April payments. That's my excuse for not doing anything yet, anyway!Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
It really depends on what shift I'm doing that day, some days i only work 7.30-9 and have the rest of the day free for mystery shops, but other days I work 7.30-7 and don't book any in.
On average, I do around 30-40 a week. I have recently signed up with TNS and am getting a lot of work from them, so it may go up more now.
I like the FFF ones best, as you can look in different areas for jobs. I work in one town, live in another and my Mum and Dad live in another who I visit regularly. I also travel to two other towns close to me, so have quite a large area that I cover.
If I just did themin my town I would have about 1 job a month, as I've done 3jobs in the 3 months I've been a Mystery shopper.

Apologies if this has already been mentioned but, having done a search today, I could not see any mention of Indiefield.
I have done a few surveys (online/telephone) for them and have found them to be excellent.
They also look for people to take part in discussion groups (mainly in the London area, though not exclusively) and use mystery shoppers on occasions. The fees are generous in my opinion.
I have no connection with the company other than the above, but found the information from a previous thread on this site.
If anyone would like to take a look: https://www.indiefield.net
I hope this helps someone.0 -
Another question re tax returns (sorry) - but do you need to keep your petrol receipts or is the record of locations/miles x 40p enough? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Thanks very much everybody for the information so far. I have decided to re-apply to TNS, although I have been rejected in the pastand if I remember rightly I have to fill in a long test paper thingy. I will just have to try extra hard this time.
You couldn't give me another clue about what FFF stands for? It's got me guessing.0 -

I failed the TNS test the first time. Then again, I was rushing through in my dinner hour! But then I sat down and did it again, properly and passed it that time. It's best to have one page open with the actual test and another with the handbook so you can refer to it. Good luck!:beer:0 -

Complete your tax return on-line, it is soooooo much easier  and as long as you have kept proper records, it doesn't take long to do at all and it is worked out if you owe, or they owe you tax, when you press the calculate button
Do you have a link to this website Taggie?:beer:0
