I have found https://www.mysterydining.com good for nice restaurants, although you don't get a fee and I think the questionnaires are very long and detailed - usually take at least 30 minutes to complete.

Here is a question for any GAP experts please. I've just had my first lot of pay from them but the pay is slightly more than I was expecting. I can't seem to find any help on the site to see what they are paying me for. On of the jobs I think I have been paid for was one with a budget of £12 and no fee. I didn't spend all the £12 and the only way it adds up is if they gave me the full £12 rather than the amount I spent. Is this usual for them? Other companies I have worked for only refund expenses to the value of your receipts.

    Confused.

Was that a pizza job? ;) Yes, weirdly GAP pay the whole amount, regardless of how much you actually spent (which makes up for no fee!). This applies to all the pizza scenarios, I think, and you can make a few quid on the lunchtime one especially. ;)

The extra money is taxable, though.

WOW! I have just discovered this thread and started reading it from the beginning! I've never thought you can do money this way! It sounds exciting and I am definitely willing to try it! Just one thing - I want to try it out with a PAYE company, because I do not want to go self-employed. I know from the posts here that TNS and Cybershoppers are PAYE companies - is that correct? Are there other PAYE companies apart from these two?
    Thanks!

I don't think so Sve. Cybershoppers has now split into two companies. I think NOP is PAYE but the Gfk part is Self-employed.

I see - so it is just TNS and NOP then? I tried to find a link to NOP but no luck - can anybody help please?
    Thanks in advance!

I've actually found it out. I will sign for TNS and NOP and will see how it goes - exciting!

There are other PAYE companies other than the ones mentioned above and on the first post on this thread.

    Some are:

I have also used ilovefreebies link at the begining of this thread to join a lot more just waiting for confirmation I have joined them.

I have to say a big THANKYOU to everyone on this thread as I have learnt SOOO much.

  • Firstly, g'day everyone. I've read moneysavingexpert.com for a while but posting for the first time. I have recently started doing a bit of mystery shopping and found it useful for bringing in a few bob. I would be interested to hear of other tips for boosting earnings; for instance film/tv extra work and doing surveys. I just wondered what has worked for forum users. Any links to sites most welcome.

Ive got a job coming up which has a mileage allowance of up to three pounds. Please could someone let me know how this works, do the MS company work out the mileage or do I just claim the full amount? Thanks.

Just claim the full amount - you don't have to provide any receipts or calculations or anything like that.
