Took me more like 3 months, but that's because I was only doing it in bits. Plus my stuff wasn't esp valuable.

Good luck - it's worth having a go even if you later decide it's not for you. I would start off with a couple of things that are not too valuable but easy to package, just until you get the hang of how it all works.

Agree with LannieDuck. You would be surprised what you can sell. Suggest you find anything that you dont want & check if the same sort of item has been sold on Ebay. I cleared the garage during the summer & sold old tins (very collectable) assorted knobs & handles from old furniture, old kitchen stuff, books ornaments, clothes etc etc. Doesnt really matter about the condition as long as you are honest.
Theres a thread on here somewhere on DFW "things you thought you could not sell on ebay" or something like that.

Thank You Tallyhoh for you input of information too.

My most immediate problem is going to be getting immediate cash ! I do not know of anyone I can borrow off. I have already borrowed off my brother and do not want to ask again. I got myself into this mess. So from this moment on I'll get myself out of it, if that has to be the expensive way round, than so be it. I don't think I am going to have any option but than to renew my express payday loan. If I take anything to cash converter I will have that interest to pay but it may be less than payday loan interest ?

From reading these boards. I have spent the last 3 hours, setting up a spreadsheet :) amazed myself, as I don't usually even write stuff down. I have downloaded 2 free apps to my mobile. 1 to track my spending, it also allows you to put in budgets for different categories and as you spend in that categories, it records in and gives you a running total of what is left, also can put in bills and repeat bill payment etc. 2. a diary to record my thoughts, feelings on money wasting and money saving.

If I renew my express loan. I will renew for £50 less, its not ideal but its a start. I have looked at petrol and food to find the extra £50. I can save a bit on fuel, by just doing necessary journeys. As I have a weight issue, this can only be a good thing.

Thank You for those who have read and assisted me so far and Thank You to those who have posted there stories. I read them and gain immense information and comfort to know, that I can sort this out. I am very lucky my debts are not excessive. What I need to work on really hard is, as my user name explains stop "wasting" money"

I am feeling little more positive at the moment. I have had 2 NSDs (learned that from this site) up to now. But then again with no money at the moment that is not hard to do !

My aim is to get through till pay day, spending the very minimum of money. My DH is looking for stuff to do but nothing as let. He is very good, he is not the sort of person, who wants stuff or spends money, be lucky if he spend a fiver a week. He is totally on board with me. I do all the finances ! but I have had a chat this afternoon over 2 latte's made at home (saved £4) there. That is one of our weaknesses, popping in for coffee, while we are out shopping. OK went off story a bit there. DH is going to take more of a role in the finances, so that he can see the cost of stuff and be more informed to come up with ideas for saving. Phew breather ...... we have also spoke about Christmas presents, this will be cut right back. Amounts spent and who we buy for, no more Ive only spent this or that on that person, will have to get something out to even it up !

I feel I have had a productive afternoon. No richer but a bit more positive.

    Thank You all very much

    :)

You have made a good start and have loads of good ideas there to cut expenditure.
If you owe provident and your brother and wonga already, I fail to see how borrowing more from some Express? is going to help?
I think you really need to bit the bullet and try and get a payment arrangement with Wonga.
Another approachwould be to approach a credit union and see if they can give you a loan to pay off Wonga that you can pay off at a more manageable rate each month.

  • Thank You DF, I do agree its not a good move at all. I have no money at all, there is £3 and change in my purse and have to get through 3 weeks. I am willing to give anything a try. I will try and make a payment plan with wonga. Even if that is successful, it will not help my immediate problem of having no cash now. Thank You for the information about credit union, I will look into that tomorrow. Still that does not help my immediate cash flow problem.

    Thank You

If your husband is at home all day atm, suggest he tries out Swagbucks.com or something similar. Some people make £20-30/month on there. There are lots of sites like that on the 'Up your income' board.

And for immediate cash, do you have a cash converters anywhere, and maybe something you'd be willing to pawn? Better than a payday loan...

  • Lannie, thank you once again for that piece of information. I will set him off to work today on that. and I will check out the up your income board. I am quite handy and do, do crafts but whether anyone would want to buy them ? don't know. We do have a cash converter and I do have a few things I could take for a loan. It is town and while I am there Credit union is there too, so will check that out.

Thank you for the support, information and links yous have shown me , very much appreciated.

Update.......not renewed payday loan......as yet. Taking it daily !

Taking things a day at a time is fine :) and well done on not renewing the payday loan!

As for food - do an inventory of your cupboards and see what meals you can make from it, if you're stuck post it up here and we can try and help make some meals out of it all :)

I will have a check and see what I have, still got £2 of my £3 odd ! I can eat at work for free. We have permission to as long as we dont go overboard, so thats a help.

Started using my spending app, I like it, hope it keeps me focused.
