my new month starts today (it's payday - hooray) so I am going to declare my shopping at 672 euros.

This month will of course include all the christmas extras so I'm going to go for 700, which I'll post on the new December thread when I find it!
    Trying to keep in budget.

  • Just checking in for this week.

I had a total of 4 NSD's last week, my shopping at the weekend came to £48.62.

Still have quite a lot in the freezer and there is only me until Thursday night (I will cook mums tea on Wednesday night though), so with a bit of luck and not going round the town after work i should be able to manage until Friday again :)

Off to update my signature and sign up for the December challenge.

Have a good week everyone :)
    August Grocery Challenge (15th)
  • £20 in odds over the last week, i seemed to have stopped doing a weekly shop and the spends are creeping up again

Although it will take me over budget, I am going to go and do a big shop in asda tomorrow, and take my mum with me too. Saves lots of small trips to the the closest supermarkets and spending more money.

Hoping to stock up quite a bit so will lots of meals in for December. I need to concentrate on emptying the freezer a bit so the Christmas meat can go in there.

    Hi everyone,

Welcome back jumblejack we have missed your inspiration and step by step photos :D

angelatgraceland - the job sounds just what you (and they) need. Hope it works out for you :A

Just back from Tosco and spent £61 odd so I'm over...again... Did get some canapes for Christmas rtc Finest range, which I would never have bought otherwise. Plus some of the butter, yogs etc will last well into next week, so maybe not so bad after all.

    Mealplan for this week:
Tonight - meatballs and spaghetti, napoletana sauce
Tuesday - beef shin casserole, casserole veg mix, mash, broccoli
Wednesday - chicken curry, rice, naan
Thursday - sweet and sour pork, pasta
Friday - ys mince and onion pie, mini roasties, veg tbd

    Off to update signature.

  • A £3.85 spend in Tescos. 2 pints of milk, bread and cheese. Spent more, but that was on Christmas pressies, so comes out of a different pot.

That should be me done for the month now! I'm coming in under budget for the 3rd month in a row. But I won't declare until the 30th, just in case!
Because it's fun to have money!

I logged off a good few weeks back as the elite thread was spiralling down quite quickly. I kinda semi-retired from MSE for a while.

I have been actively budgeting though and keeping to my challenge although I've not been reporting spends.

I'm even better at NSDs too!

I've had a bit of a spring clean head on (despite it being Autumn!) and have gutted the dining room, living room and bedroom.

I also got the shabby chic bug and have given my wardrobes and wall mirror a makeover in the bedroom.

    I'm renovating a ramshackle bookcase today :j

It was this that made me check in on old style again and I wanted to see how you all were :)

I am pretty sure I have seen some of florenceem's posts on the shabby chic thread. Not sure how recent they are though as I have read back as far as May so far.

Hope she is OK. Her posts always inspire me in the kitchen.

Glad to see everyone is still here :)

Oh pants - my fridge freezer is not freezing! Going to be this eve before OH can look at it. Best case we can fix it, worst case we need a whole new fridge freezer :( On top of that I'm in danger of losing a fortunes worth of frozen food I have in there. :(:( I hope it's something simple but I doubt it....
