LizPaul im usually happy, but last time i was not. Ordered 6 bags of frozen barbeque chicken, which was £2, BOGOF, so worked out at £1 a bag, they sent me 2 bags of sausage rolls @ £4, not price matched. I never checked as the driver arrived an hour or so late in a panic - so i wrote and complained, saying how do you get from chicken to sausage rolls, surely you had some chicken in your store somewhere, they refunded me for the sausage rolls (which ive given away to my parents as they buy them for xmas) and also gave me a refund on the delivery as it was late - to be honest i was gutted the chicken was oos and now its 3 for £5. Happy GCing and weekend everyone and cu next week.

My first post so be gentle with me :0)

I had a go last month and managed quite well so this month I'm in it for real!

There's only me at home with with two dogs so I'm setting a budget of £50 for the month.

    Onward and upward...

Good luck and i used to find a spend diary was a god send when i first started... in fact i still do:o

Its taken me this long to actually catch up on the thread, things have been a bit hectic over the last couple of weeks but should calm down again along with my new job next week. Will be nice to come home for lunch again so HM soups and LO's should help keep my food spends down....I Hope!

    Hope everyone is well

  • Another small grocery spend yesterday of £2.29 at Mr A, topping up store cupboard supplies with SP Passata and UHT milk. I did however waste 0.65p on a pk of meat-free bolognaise. I bought it on the spur of the moment just to try it out, but have to say it’s not for me – couldn’t stand the smell of it cooking – I did try adding a few things in an attempt to improve it but to no avail so ended up throwing it in the bin :o.

I’m really happy with how my budget is going so far – 2 weeks to go and more than half my budget left :j:j. I will need to do an @ldi shop soon – hoping the new super 6 is veg again – does anybody know, I’ve checked the shopping thread and their website but can’t find any info.

My entertainment budget did take a bit of a beating as I managed to get two bottles of B@ileys one for me, one for a Christmas present, down from £15 to £10 each - best go and hide them in case I’m tempted to crack open a bottle.

Bluegreen143 – the salmon dish looks lovely and I just happen to have a Squash in the fridge that I was wondering what to do with it :D
    Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61
    July - Grocery spends = £103.53

Oh meant to say earlier I made my spicy chicken wings last night and they were fantastic - never made hem before, but had been saving the wings from whole chickens for months in the freezer so knew I had to use them up! They were really lovely and OH was very impressed lol. Had them with HM dip made with some leftover philadelphia and leftover yoghurt, some out of date coleslaw, salad dregs (including the last of my roasted squash), HM spicy wedges and corn on the cob. Delicious and frugal :D the only bit that was a faff was trying to get the skin off the wings as it took forever!

Edit: Need2bthrifty I find a whole squash in the fridge sometimes a bit intimidating as I cba to chop it up when cooking. So it works really well to slice into wedges and roast straight away (I roast in the skin so even easier) as a tub of already cooked and chopped squash in the fridge lasts up to a week and can just be added to dishes as you go :)

Thanks MrsCD for your wishes. Meat and booze purchased for the Diwali party. If only he was a good Hindu we wouldn't be buying either and saving a packet too! This has now taken my monthly total to £71.36/£200

OH is buying the rest of the stuff from the market so I will probably have to guestimate his spends.

Back from shopping and succumbed to a few whoopsies in M&S - all nice stuff though - £9 spent.
Then to Sainsbobs and £19 spent - dog food, a mini cheese board and razors included in that though so not too bad.
Could have been much better but could have been worse.....

I popped in to the new Asd* and picked up a couple of things one of which was over charged but I didn't check the receipt grrr!! Anyway spent £4.69. I need to buy milk and ice cream (for desert tomorrow/guests) and THAT IS IT!! Until end of next week when I need to buy supplies to bake cupcakes for work as it's my birthday.

Also bought lots of bits to finish off the Christmas shoe boxes but that's a different budget fortunately!!

    :D

That looks lovely but you will have to use quite a lot of product on it to keep its' shape, otherwise, depending on your natural hair structure, it could look a little flat. I had this discussion with my hairdresser and I opted for something like this but without the fantastic bone structure. It's really easy just to put a tiny bit of wax on to define the spiky quality and if I don't wash it, it can look more like the Ellen Degeneres (all on one side pixie-look) instead. My confession is I get a local barber to cut mine instead of a women's salon - he likes cutting it and he's good and I reckon about half the price of a hairdressers (under £15). I just have to go when it's not too busy as mine takes longer than most of the chaps I see in there.

    Best of luck

lol about the barber, i was doing the same, but hes away and ive booked into the Toni & Guy Academy for a student cut, its £5. That looks a lovely cut, but im nearly crying thinking of it on me. I have very long hair, which is mainly curly from twisting and knotting when wet. I do not have a dryer, would not faff around with anything more than a headshake and moose that you use on dry hair, so maybe that is not for me, maybe this will work http://www.dvdtimes.co.uk/protectedimage.php?image=EamonnMcCusker/DempMake03.jpg
I have till Friday, or i might just bottle out and have 6ins cut off the ends
