  • On modern airliners, all of the baggage and cargo areas are pressurised but not all of them are heated.

    The bag/cargo areas are pressurised in order to equalise the pressure between the cabin area and the cargo area below it. If the cabin was pressurised but the cargo bay below wasn't, the cabin floor would need to be far stronger than it is at present.

    Even though many of the cargo areas aren't heated directly, the air that they receive if from the same supply as the cabin air so it is warmed up a bit.
    This is why your suitcases are often extremely cold when you collect them from a baggage carousel. (always more noticeable with hard plastic or metal cases).
