need help with letter sizing on pc

Options
hi all,
in the past week all the text size and spacing on my pc has gone really large.it used to be an average size and i never had to use the slider along the bottom but now only half the page seems to fit the screen and thats not even when using the full screen which is meant to cover the full page.the font size used to be the same size as when you type a query on this site but its about twice the size when it transfers.
please accept apologies as i am not very computer savvy and only know the basics so would be grateful for very simple explanations.
have been into the tools section of the avanced menu and checked the font size is medium but its still too big on screen and its really annoying!!!!
is there something simple i can do to bring it back to how it was before??
sorry for long post, hope you techno people will help me.thanks

Possibly be a problem with your screen resolution?

Is the problem with all the applications on your PC or just one specific thing, i.e internet?
  • seems like on every site.even the aol banner page isnt the same.

Just have a look on your main Desktop screen > right click (away from, the application icons (MS Word, Excel, etc)) > properties > settings and have a look at the screen resolution. Mine is set at 1280 x 1024 pixels, it maybe that

Click View (top left) then text size and then normal. Hopefully that will resolve the problem.
  • sorry if this sounds stupid but when you say click view (top left) where am i looking on the pc?

For the taskbar to move like that, you must have clicked on it, held the button down, and moved the mouse to the right hand side of the screen.

To get it back, do the reverse.

    For your text.

Open Ineternet explorer, move the mouse pointer anywhere in the screen

Hold Ctrl (dont touch any mouse buttons) and roll the mouse wheel

It is difficult to know if you have a sytem issue (resolution) or if it is an Internet Explorer issue.
