Have you signed today? I'm sure they asked you your reasons for not attending Friday and if you said you just got mixed up you can expect to lose 1 weeks money sometime in the near future.

I agree 4 years and not missing any appointments, it would be harsh to sanction the OP.

4 years signing on? i wouldnt sanction them....................I would stop them signing full stop. Theres no way on this planet im going to believe that anyone could go 4 years without finding some work if they really wanted it.

I do think thats a bit harsh, it depends on different things,i.e. the area and also the age of the OP. Its almost impossible to even get an interview once you are over 50 in some areas.

Nonsense, fair enough a few months but not 4 years. A bit of travel never hurt anyone and the likes of Tesco, Asda or B&Q to name a few, employ many 50 plus people. Its time people stopped making excuses and got off their ar+es and done a bit. People moan that foreigners are taking all the jobs well they wouldnt be able to if locals applied for them, in the 80's many lads i knew went looking for work in Europe rather than sign on and now some people wont even look in their next town.

Technically they could refuse you to sign as its been over 5 working days

Technically, it hasn't been 5 working days 'cause he's not had a working day in 4 years :D
Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?
