Yes you should and yes they probably will.
The risk here is that you may be sanctioned (have your JSA cut) for failing to sign on without good cause. You have 5 days to give them details of your good cause and appeal any sanction decision.

Rather than telephoning, I suggest you go there. Take a good book and be prepared to wait a long time, but in the end they should allow you to sign on.

Technically they could refuse you to sign as its been over 5 working days however I agree with voyager a personal appearance may help your case so they sign you on

You will however probably be sanctioned for 1 weeks benefit

The first failure is now a 4 week sanction for "refusal/failure to attend an adviser interview".

Were you feeling sick at all? If so, you can probably self-certify sickness at the Jobcentre.

I'm guessing the OP meant Friday two days ago rather than the previous Friday.

If it was the previous Friday, the absence of a payment last week would probably have acted as the reminder.

Morlock thats the case from 22/10/12 however as this 'offence' happened prior to 22/10/12 it would be dealt with using the previous rules

where do you get 5 workings days from?

If you were sick then you may be OK but for any other reason I doubt you will get off with anything less than a sanction but your best bet is to go and see them and hope you get a friendly adviser, face to face is far better than phoning, unless you are still ill and can't get there ;)

not being able to get out of bed would be what is needed, as a bit under the weather doesn't stop you from phoning or even signing on.

You really need to work out what your ecuse is, I would be looking online to see what reasons are allowed to miss a signing day and hope my excuse will be one of those.

Good luck, if you do get sanctioned, make sure to appeal straight away and apply for a hardship payment too, if you leave it more than 5 days I think it is, you can not appeal.
