Am I a homeowner?

You're not an "owner/occupier".....I'd go with "Other" and then explain.....Practically Perfect in Every Way......:grinheart0

But the answer available is "owner occupier" which the OP clearly isn't.Jon_Spiels wrote: »In your case I'd say that your the homeowner since the property is in your name anyway. Try talking to your ex and ask for rent payment if he still lives there...

I am getting divorced and am therefore renting. However I am still named on the mortgage where my ex still resides (although am not paying towards it).
For the purposes of a CC application, am I a homeowner or a tenant?
If I put tenant, then the credit check will reveal I have a mortgage. If I put homeowner then the credit search will show a mortgage for a different address to my own.
Thanks
you should obtain a copy of the title deeds from the land registry, only costs £4. it's possible to be on a mortgage and not on the title so it's worth checking.
I would guess you probably are though.
I'm a divorce lawyer so do this stuff a lot.0 -
seeing as everyone is giving different answers and the application is not allowing you to fully express your current circumstances, the only way forward is to call the lender and do an application over the phone. Or at the very least get clarity from then. Sometimes you can talk to the underwriter directly.0

I agree fully that he is a tenant but the OP is concerned that any search will show up his mortgage......and the fact, presumably, that he is still responsible for it even if he isn't actually paying it.
He is an owner, but not an occupier. He is a tenant but owns a property other than the one he is living in.
I reckon he's better off explaining his situation so that there no misunderstandings.
