Two Centre Holidays - New York and ?

Hi All

Next year we'd like to do a two centre holiday, with one destination being New York.

Can anyone advise where the best place would be to start planning such a trip? Does it need to be done via an agent by phone, or can we do it ourselves online?

And where would you recommend that the second destination might be?

Thanks in advance .

I've always fancied Iceland. You can book NY/Iceland through icelandair.

Or Niagara - I would do it myself by booking returning flights to NY and some nights there. Then book travel to Niagara for desired nights there. Easy to do yourself.

Chicago? You can go by rail between the two and see a bit of the USA while travelling?

It would help if you told us when you want to go - the destinations suggested might well be different in February from those in July.
  • I've just done a NYC - Washington DC and Florida holiday. Booked all on the internet at various times when I've come across a good deal.

    Best holiday ever!

    Hi Geordie

That sounds interesting as OH wanted to go to Florida but rest of us want to go to NY. Did you stay in hotels?

We would have to go July or Aug next year due to college and uni holiday terms.

One other option we have is to go somewhere in the summer for a week and then go to NY between Boxing Day and New Year. Undecided which way to go to be honest. Might be better going for 2 weeks in July or Aug?

  • Hi

We booked the Waldorf Astoria In NY and a Disney Hotel in Orlando. We got both at really good prices by closely watching the prices and booking when I felt they had reached their lowest point. We went in August for 3 weeks (4 night in NYC, 3 nights in DC and a fortnight in Florida) with two kids in tow.
  • Many cruise ships use NY as an embarkation port for the Bahamas. Sounds good to me, hectic shopping and a relaxing week! DIY and suggest use American TA like www.americandiscountcruises.com for a cheaper deal.
