    Like some compo

    An apology
  • Are you sure it really was a Spar? There's a seedy newsagent in Westbourne calling themselves "Star" but using the same colours & logo!

yeah it was the spar, it's near the post office.

What exactly do you expect Spar to do? They are basically just a buying and branding group, they don't own the stores or control how they are run. If you do get a response it will probably just be a generic 'sorry you weren't happy' letter.

not bothered if i get a generic letter, at least i'd get an apology.

Maybe there wasnt an edition printed that day due to a print workers strike.

Wouln't have been, as the paper is published by an indepentent print workers
  • how is not saying anything to his face then writing a letter of complaint to ho being the bigger man ????

It's being polite. I am sure it's better for the people in the shop than to kick up a fuss in the shop. It's all down to personal opinion though

    What did he say then?

asking what I wanted the paper for, surely its pretty obvious. He then started making comments about my political opinion and also my choice of newspaper I read.

although i wasn,t there it sounds to me like the newsagent was trying to enter into some light hearted banter, you might have been offended but luckily at this moment in time england is still a free country and we are all entitled to express or political opinion.
i personally would like more than the grunt i get every morning at my newsagent.

I still don't understand why you expect an apology from Spar when all they do is sell baked beans to this bloke?

If the milkam is ever rude to me I'm gonna complain to Ford cos it says that on his van ;)

As it says above, he won't be employeed by Spar, it's just a brand.

Whether or not I'd be offended depends on the age of the chap concerned. There's a certain type of older bloke who enjoy making flippant comments about stuff.
Don't grow up. Its a trap!

    Peace, love and labradors!
