O2 PAYG - you can't surf on GPRS

Having spent almost a week trying work out whether I'm doing something wrong, I've just found out that I cannot use the O2 PAYG SIM on my GPRS laptop-card as O2 blocks true Http surfing to PAYG accounts

o2 Mobile Web is not available on the o2 Pay-as-you-go tariff, only for customers on a pay-monthly tariff.
According to various emails we've seen, this is o2's policy as opposed to any kind of technical limitation.

I am furious as this is not made clear by O2 :mad: and I have topped up specifically for this use.

I have an AirCard750 laptop card locked to O2. I can connect to the network get GPRS signal, and make/receive calls but NO surfing..

Anyone knows a way around this?

...or can anyone point me to how do I go about unlocking the card for use with other networks?

They caught me out the same as well after I topped up, buggers, orange payg gprs allows you full access and its free till the end of april if you get the bloody thing unlocked
