  • Thanks guys. I'm going to step out of the challenge for the rest of the week, my mind is just not in it enough at the moment. Will be back for the next one.

Total for the week: £26.00/£40.00 (have adjusted the amount based on the days I completed).

Take care everyone and I will still be watching the thread :)

Oh dear, I put myself down for £100 and went over it as the total spend was £155. However I'm adjusting for next week so still should be on track for the month!

Sorry to hear your news, Lottie. Take a little time out for yourself as you need to, and don't feel bad about it.

This week I've spent £1.90! That was for bus fare! Reminded myself of this challenge every time I thought "Oh, I could just buy this, or that." Really pleased with myself.

Pledging £30 for next week however, as it's half term. Expecting a little expenditure here and there.

    Hi everyone,

Sounds like people are having a tough time of things. Lottie - be kind to yourself - is always sad to hear when someone passes away - at least your Grandad is at peace now...

This week was a strange one:

    Pledged £25.00.

Received forgotten £99.00 for a travel expense claim!!!

Went out on a bit of a food flurry stocking up on stuff I buy that was on offer at the moment - so cupboards are pretty full! Filled my car up and bought 3 months worth of St John's Wort which is expensive, but helps my mood. Confession - erm... stocked up on cider and twiglets <cough cough> but only because they were also on offer and a really good deal!!! Also spent money on a computer game subscription - then my computer promptly died on me!!! The graphics card has gone (been on the blink for ages!) so now need to save for a new one BAHHHH as well as try and keep saving towards clearing my debts. So some good spending - some not so good.

Anyway - I believe in being totally honest - so...

Spent £13.95/£25.00 from this week's pledge.

Then received a cheque for £99.00 but overspent stocking up as when I totalled it all up I'd spent £161.93 on my food, medication, fuel and luxuries!!! = Overspend of £62.93

This left my end of week balance as:

    £76.88/£25.00  = RED week!

On a plus - was able to do a Budget review and increase my DMP payments from £100 to £250, and have cleared a credit card off - Whoop!!! So not all bad!!!

Turn 40 in a week or so and having a wrangle of a) go away for a few nights and treat myself vs b) be practical and but a wnter coat vs c) pay off the remainder on my last credit card...

Hmmmm... I could stay in and get merry on cider and twiglets now I guess and not care about turning 40!!! :rotfl:

    Next week's pledge £50.00
    (groceries and spends together)

I should be green as have many of my essentials in!!!

  • Hi, I would like to take part in the 28/10/12 W/C.. Sounds fun and it's a good way for me to see if I am staying within my budget as I attempt to get my spending down!
I would like my next weeks budget to be £55 Thanks!
#1 Reducing my overdraft limit: £800 OD
    #2 Weekly Spend Challenge (28/10/12): £04.04/£55.00
  • Today I bought a few more bits

    Park and ride 4.00
    Cookies 3.00
    Sandwich 3.50
    Present 18.00

    28.50 + 31.50

    60.00/50.00

    Forgot the present needed buying.
  • Hello I need to join in here.. this is one of my most expensive weeks so far. Moneyset aside for 1 event will now be stretched to 3.. My limit is £80. ( a 30th Birthday party, a leaving do for a beloved colleague and an adjoining leaving breakfast at a ridiculously expensive inner London cafe )..

This limit may also have to include £14 of petrol - however I have menus for each event and have planned ahead. Will also be eating a lot at home before each one so I don't turn up there starving and order more than I should...:T

YEAH I have £13 left from my £80..:T:T:T

I've woken up to a light covering of snow this morning!

Pleased to report another week in under budget. I popped to my local very expensive supermarket Thursday on the way home from work and spent £7, taking me to a green £11.07/£15.

It's half term next week and inevitably I always spend a fortune during school holidays. Plus I've got a girls night out on Monday...
Let's try £75 for my target next week please.
