Help! Google keeps crashing.

Options
I seem to be having a bit of a problem with Google lately. I enter a search into the tool bar (or an open Google page) and it takes ages to open a new tab. When it does eventually open, it takes ages to load the page. Then message come up saying the Google has not responded. Often it will crash Explorer as well. I have run malware and anti-virus scans and they have not come up with anything. I have been using the toolbar without issues for a few years now.

I run Internet Explorer 9 and Windows Vista and I have uninstalled and re-installed Google toolbar and have deleted all cookies (as far as I can know), but with no joy.

Does anyone have any thoughts?

I will add though, as many on here will testify, when it comes to the techie stuff, I am as thick as two short circuits (LOL, see what I did there biggrin.gif) embarass.gif So, be kind when I ask you to explain things (maybe even more than once. :rotfl:)
The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark
