However, there can be a perfect partnership. You forgive the dog for it's shortcomings, and the dog forgives you for yours.
Shelter, food, warmth, love, exercise and most of all trust.0 -

Because it is grammatically correct? :rotfl: "Some dogs" would convey something entirely different to my intended meaning.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -

They are and can be as clever as Labradors / Border Collie, give just as much love, need you as much as any other dog, but if you don't like them because of what they look like, I have little more to say to you.
You shouldn't want a dog because of how it looks!!!!!!!
I don't have a Staffie myself, but I certainly wouldn't rule one out of having a home with me just because of the breed. So many people give Staffies a bad name and it would seem your not helping the problem either
Maybe they don't want a staffie full stop?
You can't force someone to choose a dog they don't want!0 -

And why is that?
Sorry but there are certain characteristics of the LOOK of certain dogs that does not appeal to me and based on that I would not have them.
And nobody could ever convince me to go for a breed of dog I do not like the look of (mutts are different, I like all mutts) , full stop.0 -
I would prefer a bit a cross breeding for hybrid vigour actually, but not sure how much choice one would get.
I met someone and she seemed to take dogs for a short period before re-homing, not sure where from though. Another option would be looking after dogs (professionally) whilst people are away on holiday, but most adverts are for clients not 'vacancies'. Perhaps they would need a reference?0 -
People choose certain breeds, I tend to go for rescue mutts of the Heinz 57 variety, in order of my preference, these are the cross breeds that I look for.
Lab/collie/gsd/spaniel with maybe a smattering of lurcher/terrier. I quite like rotties and dobermans too, would even consider greyhound/whippet - but I prefer a mongrel of the aforementioned breeds.
I'm not particularly anti any dog, or look of a dog - but the above are ones where I can gauge their personality and "doggy sense of humour" (don't laugh, each breeds sense of humour, tolerance levels and way of looking at life is different): and these are the ones that suit me and my personality best.0 -
I don't understand not liking a dog based on the way it looks at all.
They're all dogs, they all have far more in common than they do differences despite outward appearances.0 -

OK, not sure if that makes sense to anyone apart from me but.. would you go out with someone who's looks make you want to puke?
Bit extreme I know but can not think of any perhaps better example...
Rising being kicked to death on here - I really absolutely see nothing appealing in staffs. I know lots of people love them - I would never have one personally. So go shoot me now...
OP has every right to go for a dog that he/she likes the look of, is likely to bond with and make it work for both.. human and a dog.0 -

I've never seen a dog that made me want to puke!
Maybe what's different about us is that I just see them all as dogs, while you are more focused on a specific breed.
I love dogs, you love German Shepherds.0 -
I wouldn't have a Staffie either.
I know some people love them, and that the evidence is they make great pets, but I wouldn't want an animal that people cross the street to avoid. They may be wrong, but it isn't my job to educate them.import this0
