    Well if you decide to move in then a people carrier is the first thing on your list so thats a cost you wouldnt have in the future.

    Unfortunately money makes the world go round. If you've no money the pressure will be unbearable and you will feel guilt about what you used to be able to provide and what you now cannot.

    Being a single parent sucks because the buck stops with you. Being a step parent has a lot of rewards but a hell of a lot of juggling. Especially if ex's are on the scene. Its in a lot of ways harder than being a single parent.

    My advice would be get his debts under control first. Its not romantic but neither is splitting up.
  • I agree with the other posters. Step parenting is damn hard work - without problem finances to take into account. If he can't 'pay his way' with the household then its going to cause resentment from you i think. Maybe if you shared your concerns you might get an idea how he views his debts and how he intends to improve his finances?
