Personally I like the split away from the motoring board.

Having to wade through the the numerous car posts about "I've been caught doing something illegal how can I get round this" :) or "on my Ford Focus, the elliptical cam will gradually slide up the beam shaft" * was getting a bit tedious.

    * And catch on the flange rebate, with disastrous results

I'm one who'd prefer a "public transport and cycling" board. With the country's transport system geared toward cars, getting around cheaply without a car poses a different set of problems to getting around cheaply in a car, so 99% of the motoring board is irrelevant to me and I rarely bother even to check it.

(And I have a folding bike so I bring it on trains, buses and taxis all the time.)

    Right!

You Lycra Louts. We'll let you in here temporarily. But! This is temporary! Don't get any ideas of getting comfortable. It's pedal to pedal if you guys want a new forum.

It can be frustrating to try and share with uneasy bed fellows but I think that we can and be better off for it. Work hard and in a few months, we can say goodbye to each other with heavy hearts and sobs with our own forums. Race ya.

If by "we" you mean "people who use public transport"...I'm feeling pretty good about our chances in this race. Takes half the time to cycle to town than to take the bus.
