  • I can't just take time off for parcels either BUT if they happen to try when I'm out the courier will leave a card & reattempt another day. The last hampers that came I was messed about by the couriers but I still don't think you need to hassle the company about it. Would you do the same with any other company/large order?

I don't want to get into an argument over it all:o But yes i would do the same with another company, or i would make sure i paid the extra for delivery on a certain day when i knew someone was in. That's not me being an awkward so and so, just trying to arrange things.

We always have an absolute nightmare with delivery companies where i live due to it being in a small village so i would rather avoid the stress and worry of trying to re-arrange a delivery and be at home on the day they are due.
  • I have been reading this thread with interest - but this is my first posting - when I put my order in I was told It would be the 1st week in December that the orders would be sent out - I will abstain from getting all doom and gloom until I am past that prospective date.:T

Firstly - it normally costs a lot extra to get stuff delivered here (even if the Royal Mail prices are the same here as everywhere else) - people usually take the opportunity to cream an extra £10-20 costs off us here (Highlands) - Neil told me that I would only have to pay the same delivery as everyone else!

Every time I have emailed I have had a prompt response (despite the fact that they must be really struggling to keep on top of all of the orders - cos Im sure they didnt expect the response from MSE'ers that they got :rotfl:).

I emailed Neil at 19:24 tonight and got a reply at 20:40 :T (i have to wait at least a day to 2 days with big companies). I was asking if he knew what day they were expected to be dispatched out (as I will have to book time off work like you poppie123) - and while Neil didnt have a date for collection he did promise to let me know as soon as a day was confirmed. He did not have to make that offer - he could have just ignored the email - or lied (if he had a mind to being dishonest!).

I think people should try to avoid being twitchy until they have something to be twitchy about - remember they are a fairly small company who have no doubt been deluged with orders and are probably run ragged trying to maintain quality and delivery times.

I don't think people repeatedly rubbing their hands with glee at the prospect of something going wrong and repeatedly returning to stir and wind people up are actually helping anyone - save the schadenfreude till it's appropriate or justified:beer: :)
...and if and when everyone gets their delivery - feel free to publicly apologise for stirring and winding people up.;)

....and before anyone says it - no Im not related/a rep/a friend/ employee etc of the company... I ordered after reading the original NH thread on here... and I work far too hard as a nurse to be bothered moonlighting for a food company!
:rotfl:If it weren't for stress I'd have no energy at all. First rule of acting: Whatever happens, look as if it were intended.;)
Don't follow in my footsteps, I walk into walls:smileyhea When in doubt .............mumble.
I may look busy, but I'm just confused.:T I smile because i have no idea what's going on.:rotfl:

Why not offer to pay extra to get them delivered on a certain day then? Just a suggestion if it means that much to you.

    Why the sarcastic comment :(
All i am trying to do is get a delivery date and hoped others on here might know or at least have an inkling.

But, i will give them a ring tomorrow and ask if it is possible to pay the extra and get delivery on a certain day. Can't help to ask.
  • It wasn't sarcastic, I was trying to be helpful.

Try an email tonight Poppie123 - and follow up with a phone call tomorrow - or try on twitter @theNHCompany - sometimes they reply quicker on twitter :D. Neil didn't have a confirmed collection date when I emailed him tonight - but he did promise to let me know as soon as he did. They may be happy to have people arrange specific delivery days. edited to add - they have been on twitter in the last 40 mins
