    E.ON experience.
They told me my annual bill is £594.
Said I should change to fixed monthly direct debit for the best deal, it would be £600 pa but with discounts and rewards would drop to £518 pa.
Started to accept it and next screen said Monthly DD would be £54 ie £648 pa. Pulled out as you might guess.
    What's all that about?
Trying to move me from paying in arrears to paying in advance?
    Anybody else seen this?

Man Overboard: That is my main argument against fixed DD, don't want the hassle of arguing about debit/credit and getting the payment right. Variable DD looks simpler.
Everyone: Just wanted to know if it is common for the headline pa calculation not to match the suggested DD. I haven't taken any other quotes this far yet.

    Hi Ivah

Could be a couple of things causing an higher figure than expected.

Is there an outstanding balance on your account at the moment? If there is, this will be included in the proposed monthly amount and spread over the next few months. This will lead to a higher monthly amount.

Our Monthly Direct Debits are based on yearly usage divided by 12. Each arrangement has an annual review.

Depending on the date in the month you choose to pay, we may not be able to collect 12 payments before the Annual Review. For instance, if we can only collect 11 payments, this will lead to an higher monthly amount being quoted.

With a Variable Direct Debit, we automatically collect the full amount of each bill straight from your bank. Variable Direct Debits attract a lower rate of discount.

Hope this helps Ivah. Give me a shout if you need any more info as will be happy to help.
