    Computer/Dell learner, sorry.

I'm confused now. This thread mentions three different Dell offers, I think. The Inspiron 1000, the 1150 with 2.4GHz, and the Inspiron 1150 with the P4m 2.8GHz, (481 UK Pounds), shown above in Wasted User's message. Is there a consensus from the experts as to which is the best deal, and should I grab it now, or does Dell knock out the same offers every week.
    Thanks.

I'm unsure if the P4 2.8 has hyperthreading or not. If it does than that is the best deal by far. If not, the 2.4 and 2.8 are about the same VFM.

I think you can pay monthly by Dell credit, if that helps.

Is Hyperthreading important then? What is it?
  • It basically means that the processor can do two things at the same time, so it's a bit like having two processors.

Just bought the P4 2.8 GHz version, have a mate who is a right techie, he had a look for me and said you cant go wrong.
Will put the Printer on Ebay to reduce the cost still further.

Now does anyone know of a good value protective carry case for the laptop?
