In Leeds there is sometimes a first-come, first-served option and that means whoever bids first gets it and there are also allocated lettings. Allocated lettings usually mean they have been given to very high priority customers (usually homeless status). There are still other properties available to bid on.
Leeds publishes the property allocations - does your area do the same? It is supposed to encourage transparency and shows you what type of bidders are getting which properties.

it does show properties that have been let in the past few months, not sure though it show the type of bidder that got the property, saying that though it might as it does list the band and I though it was showing the banding the property was in but it may be showing the band of the bidder that won it?

oh and thanks for confirming the first come rule, as I thought I was hearing things.

well I got my bids in at 1201 and one of them was on a first come first served property but still not to sure what that means...so here's hoping.
  • Also wanted to add that when we bid for our bungalow it was offered to someone in gold band who after viewing it refused so we were next in line. I was so shocked when we were offered it as we were in silver band. However LA were in need of our large 2 bed so this helped.

Don't despair you will get there.

How did you get on Sniggings?

I've only started bidding weekly recently. My placement being as follows:

    84/164
    105/229
    140/393
    71/164
    86/245

I don't know how the allocation works but I showed my interest in a property with only 89 bids which closed on Sunday and they're still shortlisted but I'm yet to be contacted so I'm not getting my hopes up just yet and I'd rather not think of why there could have been such a low amount of interest.

Here's hoping you a found and place and that I'll be allocated soon too

Not all of them will apply and even if they do, then if you don't you definitely won't get anything.
