Hi there
I would try rubbing the area with white vinegar before you wash them..this should neutralise the smell....hope it helps-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
I would put less clothing in the washing machine so that there is plenty of water and lots of room for the shirts to move aroundIf I screw my eyes up tight I can just about see where you're coming from0

Wash at 60 with Bio powder (Persil always works well for me) I have to wash DH's shirts at 60 or they get whiffy very quickly0

Hi newmrslockwood,
We have an older thread that should help so I've merged your thread with it to keep all the replies together.

I have some white tops with yellowing underarms, will the vinegar or bicarb get rid of those as well? Think I need to make a trip to the shops for a big bottle of white vinegar!!!0

Can someone help? Its getting towards summer and hot weather where you sweat more. How do you keep the BO smell from your clothes? I have washed some tops now a few times but the smell is still there, quite bad. How do I get rid of it?

it's a difficult one - I find that mens shirts tend to still smell (when you're ironing that area) and my daughter has a 'hormonal perspiration problem' at the moment - all I suggest to her is that she keeps baby wipes with her to freshen up during the day and to make sure that her shirts aren't worn more than once.
It might be worth paying a bit extra for one of those really really good deodorants0 -
I think a good deodorant will help - I've tried loads and the best one for me is Mitchum - more expensive than most, but once you've used it for a while you can miss a day and don't have a BO smell and none of my clothes smell.
I had to get OH to start using deodorant as despite showering everyday by the end of the day he stunk. Washing never got rid of the smell from his shirts, most noticable when they were being ironed0 -
Have you tried spraying with a solution of water & bicarb of soda? It's a natural deodoriser so it might work - although if it was me, I'd use the opportunity to get some more tops!0
