    Hi Evcakes,
I asked if there was any help at all and she said no.. and I stood there and was like 'No?!' and she wandered off I don't think she knew herself, so when I go back will speak to my tutor and see what I can do.

I do all my shopping on Quidco and do surveys and Swagbucks getting there slowly but surely will use any money/vouchers from these for christmas.
    xx

Now this doesn't look to bad but my income from my job varies alot. Also just to note all the house hold bills are half of the total, my sister pays the other half.

One question, as a student why are you paying council tax, I thought students were exempt - might be worth looking in to. Or is your course an odd one.
  • Hello,

Only just found your diary, I am always impressed with people who can use Ebay to make actual cold hard cash!! I hate listing with a passion.

Have you looked at the up your income board?- that is full of very good ideas

    xx
    Nevertheless she persisted.

Welly, I've put some notes in red against your SOA. You do need to have a little emergency fund for the times where your wages are less than expected or you need a bulb etc for the car. Check out petrolprices.co.uk to find you the best possible price for fuel in your area. I know where I live petrol prices vary by 4p a litre.

Hello everyone thanks for your replies.
Ok Council tax - we do get the 25% discount for single person as I'm a student. I do feel it is very unfair however to expect my sister to pay it all so we both pay half.

Fuel - I only drive to college and work and occasionally see friends (all who live reasonably close) I lodge with a very nice friend (for free) 2 nights a week when I am at college which has cut my milage down by 100 miles a week. To be fair tho my car is an old petrol car really not suited to the miles I do to college and back but there's nothing much I can do about that.

I missed off the emergancy fund (Ooops) I save £30 a month for disasters.

Phone bill - I know this is high (Seemed like a good idea when I had a full time job) I'm in contract till July then will be getting the cheapest deal I can.

Food - Yes sis and I do one shop a month which we budget £100 pounds for we live on that (lots of pasta etc.) or we just don't eat as sis works shifts we are both out at random times, she buys alot of her lunches etc I just grab what I can when I can.

Hope this makes a little more sense.

Thanks for the PM Evcakes have replied :)
