    annoying that!
I was only trying to help the op by actually performing the search myself and posting a link to the results rather than posting "use the search function, there are numerous other similar threads discussing all sorts of tablets in different price ranges...."
Try copying this and change they query bit at the end

My recommendation, given your budget and requirements would be the Ainol Novo7 Flame. As I've commented repeatedly elsewhere, China produces a LOT of tablet PCs, at a wide range of prices. The ones intended for expert are, generally speaking, nowhere near such good value as the ones intended for domestic (i.e. Chinese) use. You've specified a budget of £150... Ainol offer two or three models which fall safely within your budget and offer absolutely excellent value for money. The Nexus is good - and has a very similar specification to the Flame - but it costs more than you've got to spend. I just read an article about Ainol http://www.spemall.com/blog/?p=1652
£105 seems to be the going price for the Flame, or there's a slightly cheaper model called the "Crystal". Google to find a suitable supplier in China. I personally own the previous model, (the "Aurora 2") and the only thing that I don't like about it is that if I'd waited a couple more weeks, I could have got the (slightly better) Flame for ropughly the same price. Note that that £105 includes delivery - but it's by a fairly s..l..o..w courier (China Mail) If you don't want to wait two weeks for delivery... you can opt to pay a premium for delivery by a faster courier (like DHL or UPS) An Ainol Flame PLUS "expedited delivery" still falls comfortably within your budget.

I have been thinking about buying a tablet. Was going to buy the Kindle Fire and had pre-ordered it with Amazon, but I cancelled the order when I discovered that you are tied to the Amazon appstore.

Another possibility for me would be the Nexus 7, but I am holding out for the launch of the Ipad mini to see how much that is going for, before I decide.

Id would also suggest the nexus 7, wait and see if the price drops. Also if you search the hukd you might be able to find a code for x amount off if you spend x amount on electricals or anything from tesco direct so just a thought.
  • I've had a bit of a play with the Nexus 7 and may well buy one.

I'm waiting for the various launches this month before deciding.

It will all be clearer in November. Suggest you wait until then.
