Hi,as the title suggests,i'm in dmp with payplan, about 3months now, seem to have creditors on side now.If my wife and i,try to claim back charges from abbey and lloyds (who are 2 of our creditors-overdrafts-Abbey £1000 Lloyds £5000!),will this upset the whole dmp thing? Abbey have taken around £3000 over the last 3 years for a start! Also our mortgage is with abbey, always paid on time etc,can they try any thing with that?0

For those people who have an IVA - I'm in 2 minds about this one. Would appreciate your input here. On the one hand, by agreeing to the IVA, the bank has agreed to write off a large percentage of the amount owed to them by the client. But many £thousands of that amount owed could have simply been accumulated penalty charges. So you might feel that someone with an IVA taking their bank to court over penalty charges is a bit rich. On the other hand, the amount owed would have been a lot less if penalty charges had not been deducted from their accounts in the first place. What with the interest charges on top, this additional amount could bring about the need for the IVA itself by pushing clients into an unmamageable situation. What do you think - shall we put it to the vote?0

I am v interested in claiming back bank charges from Barclays bank. They were charging me left right and centre while overdrawn, and for bounced payments (during a period of financial struggle). This was 3 or 4 years ago, i have since closed the account and I am still paying them back with a repayment plan through CCCS. I really want to go for claiming my charges back as I strongly feel thath they were unfair.
However, I'm concerned about the effect on my repayment plan, could it cause problems with this.... does anybody know??
Any advice would be MUCH appreciated..:santa2:0 -
Hi,
I'm a new member and looking for some advice please.
Does anyone know if you have a debt management plan in place if it effects your chances to claim back charges?
Also as I'm 6 1/2 months pregnant, I thought to save myself some stress I would look into companies that offer a no win no fee, to reclaim your charges.
Has anyone any experience of these or any recommendations of companies to approach.
Thank you!

I have an IVA with my creditors which include the Halifax and HSBC. If I was to pursue a reclaim for bank charges against HSBC and Halifax, will this affect my IVA with them?0

Hi, my OH owes Natwest about £18k and successfully went into an IVA in April this year. Can they still claim back bank charges (probably totalling around £1500) from Natwest?
My thoughts are that if successful Natwest will deduct it from the amount owed to them therefore reducing my OH's monthly payback?
Any ideas?
Thanks

Hi all,
Happy Christmas to you all.
I am set to enter into a DMP. Can I reclaim charges once in a DMP or are they lost for good?
Cheers

Merry Christmas0
