Shopping this morning and Aldi was even busier this week :(. But I managed to get 2 large chickens reduced to £2.44 from £3.49 still in date until tomorrow and they cost less than the small ones that I usually buy :jThey are happily residing in the freezer, I also got 4 bags parsnips, 4 bags carrots, 4 bags new potatoes a pack of 3 large onions and a couple of sweetheart cabbage all 39p each in the super six this week, they have been prepared and have joined the chickens in the freezer :D
I noticed a lot of their prices have started to rise though. Eggs are now £1.35 for 15 medium and £1.15 for 10 large, and milk has gone to £1. Par for the course at the moment, everything seems to be rising rapidly, so much for lower inflation that the condems are spouting.......... what a load of tosh.

halight (((hugs))), what a tough decision to make :( sorry that the littlies are poorly and I hope that they feel better soon x

Jools ((hugs)) for your friend, it is always a shock even if you know it is coming x

Lovely here today so plenty of washing is on the line, I seem to spend my life doing laundry.
Best go and see if any of it is dry so BFN x

    Afternoon all,

Just got back from town and spent 2 hrs in M&S trying to spend my vouchers. Couldn't find anything  as you know I am away for Christmas otherwise I would spend on food. Might just hang onto them until I get back and maybe spend in the sales.
Quickie tea tonight as the boys play football, so probably bacon sandwiches. Low fat version for me.
Stayed the same at weigh in last night so really need to up the exercise which is difficult with my bad knee. Oh well I can only do my best.
Got some good news, have a interview for the job I applied for so feeling pleased and anxious all at the same time. I guess I can only do my best.
Welcome back bramble, go you with the new fella ;)

So need to find an outfit for the interview as none of my old clothes fit, charity shops here I come.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

(((((hugs))))) to all, mind like a sieve so have forgotton all I've read.

I'm feeling way better cold wise, but have had stupid nausea all afternoon (vertigo related) :(. And my work kids really pee'd me off too. I was full of praise for them this morning after all the hard work they have done on greenhouse. We decided to treat them to lunch at the chippy as a reward, and do you know what, only one out of ten of them had the decency to say thank you . And then this afternoon I asked them to clean the tools they had used, but when we went to put them in the stores half of them were still muddy  lazy teenagers!!!

    OS wise - bu88er all sorry :o

    Have a good evening all

    x

Julie Id save them for the sales too
Big hugs Molly hope all goes well

I don't have internet in my new house yet and haven't had time to get on my phonE until now- on the way to parents to pick up another suitcase that will come to work with me tomorrow eek!
My new house and house mates are Lovely. I didn't know any of them and one ended up being from round th corner from me and I went to school with his little brother. We already make a good double act, sadly more dumb and dumber than anything else.
I bought a new (to me) bed off gumtree and the bloke selling it ended up giviNg me tonnes of other house bits, helping me move and set up and we've been chilling, getting dinner since. Typical isn't it? Get on like a house on fire with someone who's moving back to Australia Sunday

I'm thinking about budgets again and am signing up for shopping vouchers at work. 5% off at asda, 7% boots and Iceland etc every little helps!

We have a scheme like that in work and I have been saving a little each month towards Christmas shopping. It really builds up very nicely :)

  • Hi Butterfly Brain - this is going to sound really silly but with the veg what do you do to prepare everything for the freezer. I'm really sorry if this sounds silly but this sounds really useful.
