BT Infinity or Sky Fibre

I want to get fast broadband so am thinking of getting BT Infinity or Sky Fibre. Virgin is not available in my area.

I currently pay BT for their line rental and calls and only use Sky for broadband and tv.

Which one is better? Unlimited downloads in preferred

I'd save loads and get BT Broadband & BT Vision. BT can renew your first end of contract at a saving, BT Wholesale can do subsidise BT Retail customers as its all the same group of companies (they are not meant to) & BT Retail will reduce costs by taking a cut somewhere off your renewal price/s just to keep your business where as with Sky you are limited to a good deal on Sky Fibre as its just BT Infinity rebadged at bought at a BT Wholesale price who have less room to discount you with the BT Wholesale Fibre pricing.

Using BT you should be using these below to cut your call costs as BT are the incumbent UK operator, where with Sky you dont get as many good options for reducing call costs:

BT Vision is £4 a month if you start on this you can upgrade & down grade to the £12.50 a month package, take the £12.50 to start the first month & you are stuck with it until contract completion.

Pay BT line rental in advance on your order & you escape the price rise in Jan 2013 (Sky increase in Dec) and secure £10.75 a month for the next year - that price will probably go up in a few days as non BT Broadband & Vision customers just got the price upped with BT.

BT Vision is Freeview, why pay for freeview? Actually there is extra content in BT Vision provided over the interweb, but do you really need or want it?
If you don't want a monthly charge you could buy a YouView box outright, prices should start to fall as economies of scale kick in.

If you try BT Vision you can then upgrade to BT YouView at a later date for £50 apparently, so thats 2 boxes

YouView does not support all BT Vision at this time, so vision is the way to go before they withdraw it !
