If you're putting an induction hob above a cooker under, you will need a certain amount of clearance. I didn't have enough so had to have an ordinary glass hob. Looks the part but isn't induction. I was a bit miffed at the time.

Yeah. Whirlpool stipulate that they will only allow their induction hobs to be installed above one of their own built in ovens otherwise no warranty.

Ikea do a cheap set of induction compatible pans as a starter.

    Hi

    I've got this cooker: http://www.appliance-reviews.co.uk/p/Belling-Induction-FSE60I-Electric-Cookers-in-Stainless-Steel-20705/reviews

As previously mentioned, the hob is quick to heat up and easy to control. Cleaning is a microfibre cloth and water. Would never go back to gas.

Agree about boiling the water for spuds and pasta using power boost. So quick.:)

Induction all the way for me. No more bain maries; I can melt chocolate directly in a non-stick pan on a low level with no problems, much easier and less mess.

My local appliance shop was actually giving away a full set of stellar pans with every induction hob sold so could be worth looking around for deals

I just bought the pan sizes I use daily, Im sure as I get more confident with the hob Ill buy more pans

Just been reading all the comments on induction hobs & I'm really interested as I want to revamp my dated kitchen.. My DiL uses a single one at the cafe she works in & say's they're great. Can anyone tell me if they're OK for Stir Fry's as you need such a high heat? I know some of the old glass topped hobs were thermostatically controlled for safety so you couldn't get the heat high enough
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

They should be fine for stir fry's however, finding an induction compatible WOK is not a cheap or easy task...
