    Thanks Bengal,

I thought opinions4u was trying to say that I was different to him. I see now that he thought I was one of his gang.

Its not about gangs as you call it as I've had a couple of run ins with opinions4u But you can't take away the geezers knowledge as he certainly knows what he's talking about.

Hardly run-ins. From memory a polite request to remove something and a minor difference of views on something else.

But I don't do gangs. Gary Glitter had a gang and I wasn't in it. Nor did I want to be.

But said account was already considerably overdrawn with apparent agreement between the account holder and the bank. Therefore there was an overdraft agreement in place.

you seem to confuse an apparent agreement for an informal facility with a for a formal overdraft agreement. they are like chalk and cheese :D

it is very entertaining, its like getting advice from junkies at st paul cathedral

you seem to have heralded a new era in banking, namely risk free banking

or at least risk free PDL.

you go to a bank and ask for a personal loan. They refuse. You go to to a PDL they agree. You default but never mind as the loan is guaranteed but my bank. No hassle, no due process, no sale of loans, no court action simply guaranteed by the bank

some of you should make up their minds: either I was lucky or PDL got it as of right. It cant be both. But I prefer the ones who swim on discretion territory. They havent got a clue how the discretion is exercised and they confuse it with authority

OP - if you thought by coming here that you would get a way out of paying what you owe then you came to the wrong place. One poster here may support you but s/he has problems of their own and are probably not best placed to "advise" you.

Truly, be grateful you have that loan on your overdraft and not still at a cazillion percent PDL company!

Well, I did say please tell me I am wrong! Sorry about that.

However, the payment made the OP overdrawn way beyond an informal agreement which was already on a reducer.

So why did the bank allow a payment that did that? They have stopped payments by me that have only taken me a couple of quid over my limit, so why allow a payment that exceeded the agreed limit by £500? What has gone on here?

People may feel that the bank's actions are poetic justice, but it doesn't make them correct in law.

    Two things...

1 You say it is not about gangs, but there are a considerable number of posters on this thread, and it is obvious on other threads too, that have sought out any OP asking for advice and then made a moral judgement on the reasons for the request. Once one of these people makes a post denouncing the OP, the other usual suspects soon come along to join in, providing no insight and only flawed (oh so very flawed) opinions. They make ridiculous statements that have no truth in law, and others defend them, embarrassing themselves by supporting some of the most ridiculous statements about law and consumer credit I have ever heard. The real problem is that they completely overwhelm the good, informed advice that does get posted. Sorry, whether you do it consciously or not, that is gang mentality. Or more accurately, a lynch mob.

    2. If opinions4u does know what he is talking about, why has he chosen to ignore that knowledge and talk so much flawed opnion on this thread? You don't have to take it from me, but I really suspect that he actually doesn't have a clue, and I base that on what he has posted on this thread.
