I brought a Glass's Guide only a few weeks back, sadly I throw it out as it was just sitting there! LOL!0

Comparing cars on Autotrader is about the best you can do for free, but be aware cars are on there as teasers and a lot don't sell.
Absolutely; we have had the chap on here recently who still thinks we are all mad when we have argued his Golf is worth £1k less than he thinks.
As colino says if you want to sell your car you want to be looking somewhere closer to the bottom of the price range on Autotrader.0 -
Wopnder if he actually managed to sell that Golf in the end...0

Probably to a likeminded VW fan that will pay FAR too much for an old rep shuttle.0 -
Agree with the above posts, autotrader is your best bet. It doesn't matter what any of these guides tell you your car is worth, it is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
The car trade are moving away from Glass's in favour of CAP (Car Auction Prices) which value cars significantly lower, much to my dismay when Glass's advised me to look for between £1755 and £2110 for my trade in only to be offered £1250.0 -
Good question. I needed price for car insurance, seems my car has lost 1.5 grand in a year:eek:0

The supermarkets usually have a copy of Parkers price guide in the car magazine section. We've bought one before when we were looking for a car and wanted a guide on hand constantly and on one occasion just checked it whilst we were in the supermarket to get a value for our specific car then. (It was well thumbed so we probably were not the first ones to do so!)0

Where did you buy that?
Off a guy near my local garage, as he is selling everything off as he use to sell secondhand cars but has recently closed the forecourt as he is also selling the signs for prices that go in the car :rotfl:
It was to cheap to let go, but after I threw it as I have no use for it!0
