A normal member of this site cannot access that info.

This forum runs on the software vBulletin, which does allow IP address logging.
This info will only be available to site admins though, as should be the case to maintain privacy.

This sites server runs on Apache 1.3.34, which also permits IP logging, if required. Only server admins have access to these logs.

Just curious, why do you want to know

That's why I didn't understand how Mike did it, it was on one of the 'trolling' threads that was here recently.

I've a stalker, I'm sure it's someone I know from another site but it would have been nice to have had absolute proof of that.

I belong to another VBulletin site and the mods of each forum can view the IP's of those who post in it. I know I can on my 2 forums. I wondered if that's how Mike knew but didn't think he mod'ed anywhere on MSE.

Only Mike can answer that. I presume if it was on a trolling thread that his original post has been deleted. A quick forum search didn't show it up.

Maybe he meant that if you report a post then the mods can view the IP of the offender? Don't know, since I don't remember seeing his post.

Don't, know where he is, but I think he has some tidying to do.

IM just back from the shop.. This place is a mess !!

You can get the IP only as admin. Im not admin here, but for sure any of the forum managers etc would be able to trace an IP add. I was simply stating to the 'troll' that its very easy to do.. Not that I could do it on this particular site.

Ive got a 3 course meal to cook now.. Its my 10 year Anniversary today... Get less for murder !
