    goodnight mate
  • Thought i'd post this in here, because if it goes on the main boards the mods will move it and i'm too afraid to go onto the banks boards:o

If someone transfers money from their bank into mine, how long does it take to clear this money? ( a bit of a hiccup, on my part. Not enough money in account for rent, but Daddy-bless him- has said he'll transfer some over)

Just need it to be cleared in time_pale_

    thanks.
The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter :(

It depends on the bank I think... my parents transferred some cash into my coop a/c from hsbc and it took 2 working days (pretty good!) but can take 3 or 4.

Can't he pay cash into your a/c over the counter at a branch? that way it clears straight away?
    :hello:

    Does it? i didn't realise.
Anyway he's done it now. I think it should clear in time as it has a week to do so.

Thanks for that Waspeze, i'll remember next time (theres bound to be one:rolleyes: ) about the cash:D

Depends on the bank and the account type - from my Natwest into Dads Halifax it takes 3 working days, but to MIL's Nationwide it takes a whole 7 working days!

Cash over the counter is much better if your Dad can do that.

(I love Dad's!! Mine more than other's, but I am sure you get the idea!)
  • Thanks Skylight.
Its a natwest to barclays transfer (guess who's got the Barclays account and who has the NW one:rolleyes: )

    Your right, Dads are great.:j

    :D

I just had a quick google and it says that going the other way (barclays to natwest ;) ) takes 3 working days... not sure how relevant this is but if the banks follow any sort of logic I guess it'd be the same going the other way?
