Good God no, TJ - A pint of 80 shillings would go down 'just right', but I'll settle for a Theakston's Best Bitter if you've got any.

Ahhh...a man after my own heart

If it`s Theakstons it has to be Old Peculier surely?

I once heard that there was a pub in Edinburgh that sold 100shilling.....but I was quite under the affluence of incahol that night so may have misheard...80 shilling goes down a treat.

................and stories that would make your hair curl:eek:

I remember one old boy who only had one arm but would never tell how it happened for years until it came out that he had lost it on the Burma railway. He did tell us young uns a few tales after that but was always reticent about it.

    RIP , Nelson.

I was at a pub/hotel in Yorkshire when a couple of 'brummies' tried the 'Old Peculier' - they thought it tasted quite like Banks' Bitter and drank ten pints of the stuff, without loosening their ties. They came down for 'breakfast' at 3 o'clock the next afternoon.
So I'll stick with the 'Best Bitter' if you don't mind - pure nectar!

Well, my wife has 'officially' declared that Christmas is over - I have to go and take the tree down.
Might see you later - cheers.

I thought it was bad luck to take the tree down before 12 days after Christmas. I'm taking mine down on Sunday.

The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter :(
