Hi tf - you're open early today. Do you do coffees? If so, could I have a medium Cappucino, with no chocolate, please? :coffee:
I'd like to ask you a question.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.

I'd like to ask you a question.
I`ll have the chocolate!!!
Morning all....I am having an enforced idle day owing to the inability of Norfolk county council to make sure that the heating works when children are due back at school after two weeks off....
(it`s actually quite nice to be at home but don`t tell anyone!)1/11/06 -1/06/07 BSC #42

Arhh i remember my school days in Norfolk, half of the winter was spent at home because the school heating packed in or there was no delivery of oil to run the heating..bliss!!
I see they've not improved over the years:rolleyes:The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter

I have to say that both of my daughters were born in the Princess Ann ward at the RUH and they were fantastic - mind you that was over 20 years ago - my son was born at the old St. Martin's Hospital - in the same ward that I was born - that was very 'old school' I was not allowed to be present at the birth and visiting hours were between 6pm and 8pm - God help anyone who tried to visit 'out of hours' and I worked evenings.
On a serious note - it frightens me what they are doing with the NHS - my wife is a nurse, in our local hospital. The hospital should have closed back in October, but the RUH apparently has ELEVEN wards closed because of this 'winter vomiting bug' and our local hospital is bursting at the seams trying to cope with Bath's overflow.
Then we must 'listen' to some faceless civil servant telling us that 'they know best' and just how lucky we are.

It wouldn`t be so bad if they hadn`t just spent a fortune doubling the size of it with a new system.
Heard on the radio this morning that there are another 6 closed too. How long would it have taken for the caretaker to pop in and fire it up a couple of days ago to check.....:mad:1/11/06 -1/06/07 BSC #42

Rant away Rog. It's what we all feel. The NHS round here is a joke. 20 years ago RUH was fantastic. A 1st class hospital, they saved my life. Five years ago when I had my first the rot had really started to set in. They just wouldn't listen to me and insisted they knew best. I was a first time mum so what would I know? But I was a 37 year old first timer who had been trying to concieve for 5 years so I knew my body inside out. I knew I was giving birth but nooooo they knew better it would be 12 hours at least before THAT happened  I won't go into the gory details but it wasn't great. Since then the PCT have close 3 small maternity wards ant RUH is even more overstretched. Luckily ours is still open but the rest of the hospital is downsizing  I t won't be long before it is closed. A town with 30,000 people and growing with a similar number of people in surronding areas and thery want to save money by closing the hospital  Sorry ranting now.:oBSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0
