I wouldn't do a job I didn't want to do on the basis that job satisfaction is very important. I don't want to end up like alot of the population, being owned by life when life should be owned by the individual.
In an ideal world this would be the way it should be and I'm happy that you've now found something which gives you challenge and satisfaction. It would be good if everybody could be in this situation all the time but unfortunately there are many jobs that have to be done even if nobody wants to do them. It's also important to keep your independence and self respect by being self supporting whilst you search out your ideal job, otherwise you're not owning your own life but handing over the responsibility for it to others. They may not only be doing the jobs that you don't want to do but are paying their taxes for the priviledge of supporting you while you turn your nose up at honest work and those that do it.0 -
dekaspace...
Annoys me when people think that tax is only to supplement the benefit system.
One day he may need benefits, as it can happen to anyone, but being the arrogant twit that he is, he thinks it won't happen to him, but life has a way of coming back to haunt you.
If he's not happy paying 15k tax a year, maybe he should do something else with his life, like become a rock star where 15k is nothing........or maybe he should take a chill pill and enjoy what he has and not what anyone has or hasn't.
Probably received child benefit when young anyway. Can always find something in anyone to hit them back with, but over the net, everyone's a big boy...........he probably doesn't even earn 15k in a year.......0 -

My last response was to dekaspace btw...
Well, i'll be working with less privelidged people from now on............if they are on benefits, I really don't care about the effect of my taxes, just helping those who need it.
If it doesn't go to people out of work, it will only fill another man's pockets, or treat someone on the NHS for smoking or binge drinking.
I really can't be doing with over analysing, but to lead my own life.
Taxes are here to stay..........where they end up, it will be a problem to someone anyway.0 -
Back to the main point though - rude Job Centre staff....
As I say, alot are fine, but some are miserable, just like in any job, but they threaten you with taking away your money etc and try and make people do things they don't want too.
One woman in my local, is a really horrible woman and after a couple of meetings with her, at the end I told her what she was going to do for me and she couldn't get a word in edgeways and I just patronised her.
I'm a very polite person, but if someone talks down at me, I return the favour and put the pressure on them to do their jobs and not to fail me, after all, their job is to help me return to work, so if they aren't doing it, they are failing me, and need to be informed.
Since then, she's never patronised me again and got me out the door as quick as possible.0 -

.
That was a particularly crass and uncalled for comment to make. I thought that you were going to work with substance abusers. Is it only drug addicts and alcoholics who are worthy of help as opposed to those who have problems with nicotine and food?0 -
Smokers actually pay 3 times more in cigarette tax than they cost the NHS.
If everyone stopped smoking tomorrow, the NHS would be in dire straights, along with many other things.
LinYou can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.0
