Sorry to have taken so long to reply, quick trip into hospital[bloody awful place].
Now looking at the Sony Outlet.
They have the BDPS 390B and the BDPS 490B players available in refurbished stock.
I am told by the Sony rep. that the 390 has more internet applications than the 490 but original price is quite a lot different but the same-ish in the outlet.
Sony also told me they are very easy to install and connect!!?
Anyone have any thoughts.Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0 -
The Toshiba BDX1300KB blu ray is now only £50. whereas the Sony's are £80. They seem to do the same thing.
The Sonys are refurbs and the Tosh is new. Am I just paying the extra for the name Sony?Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0 -
I have now brought the Toshiba BDX3300KB Smart Blu-ray Player!
Ordered a hdmi lead from Ebay, and they sent me a light!!! So will have to wait for the lead.
Brought a 5m PC monitor lead and plugged into TV pictures are great but I cannot get sound. The lead I have has only the one jack point OK for PC but cannot find similar on TV. So that's back to the drawing board but all in all happy with this lot. Many thanks for all your help.Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0 -
The monitor cable will be VGA, which only carries picture. Once you have HDMI cable, that will carry both picture and sound.
Do you now have a local poundland or homebargains or even asda, get a hmdi cable from themMansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -
atro1 - take a look at the back of your TV (or tell us the make and model). Where you plugged in the VGA cable, near to it hopefully, will be either a jack plug, or stereo phono (red and white) input marked PC IN or something similar. This is how you get the sound from the PC. Depending on what's at the back of the TV, you'll need EITHER a 3.5mm jack to 3.5mm jack lead (that's 2 headphone sockets) OR a 3.5mm to stereo phono lead. Whichever, get one the same length as the VGA one.0

I have now ordered a 3.5 jack to twin audio plugs. Hopefully what with a smart blu-ray player and the PC attached to TV hopefully I will be satisfied, but I think I need a better PC!Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0
