It good to hear from other people that have been through similar things and feel the way I do at having lost my cat. I think people at work think I'm silly, after all it is only a cat in their eyes but to me he was so much more. He had been there for me through so much and had such a great personality. I know I'd never find another cat like him even if I wanted to.
If I walked to the shop he would follow me to the end of the street and wait there then follow me home again. It's the little things like this that are hard as I keep expecting to see him. X0 -
Izzy, sorry to read about your cat . Sometimes people who don't have pets don't understand the feelings of grief people can have who lose their pets . It is 'real ' grief and a sense of loss that we feel . They aren't just pets they're companions too . Suppose some people won't understand that pets have their own personalities and that each one is different . One of mine has always been very timid , had her 16 years this summer . She hides a lot of the time, comes for a little stroke but really doesn't have much personality . Keeping busy and trying not to think too much x0

Poem For Cats
And God asked the feline spirit
Are you ready to come home?
Oh, yes, quite so, replied the precious soul
And, as a cat, you know I am most able
To decide anything for myself.
Are you coming then? asked God.
Soon, replied the whiskered angel
But I must come slowly
For my human friends are troubled
For you see, they need me, quite certainly.
But don't they understand? asked God
That you'll never leave them?
That your souls are intertwined. For all eternity?
That nothing is created or destroyed?
It just is....forever and ever and ever.
Eventually they will understand,
Replied the glorious cat
For I will whisper into their hearts
That I am always with them
I just am....forever and ever and ever. 0 -

Makes me cry when i read it.As do all of them.Yet i find them comforting. It is nearly 5 years since we lost our beautiful dog,and 17 years since our first faithful girl.Yet i think of them every day and their photos fill a lovely frame in the hall so i see them when going out and coming back in.
I just wish they were still here to greet me.0
