  • My beautiful girl was PTS in the early hours of this morning due to kidney failure. There were signs but we never realised what they were. Increased thirst, weeing more often and being sick. She must have been in the advanced stages as she started fitting. She never told us until it was too late. Hope your cat is still going strong. Please don't leave it too late though. I wouldn't want anyone to go through what we did last night. 9 hours on and with no sleep I still haven't yet stopped crying. :'(

  • Bless you, my best wishes to you as its such a difficult time. My beloved cat was pts last Friday, it still hurts but I try to focus on the good life that we had and that when she needed me I was there for her right to the end. Take care and hugs to you.

Really sorry to read about your cat , poor thing . It's a sad time losing your pet . Thank you for asking after mine . He's still with us . Very thin but still liking his food + spray cream . We think he isn't suffering just now . Dreading the day but don't think it's here yet . Hope you can soon remember happy times without too many tears . Best wishes.
  • Just a quick update . Our cat, Charlie , was PTS yesterday . I knew the time had come and he passed away very peacefully . We're sad , we'll miss him but he had a long and happy life , a lovely garden to be in and lots of love from us .

Sorry for your loss scrapaholic, I know it's painful but at least Charlie was well loved and you have lots of happy memories.

I know how you are feeling scrapaholic as I had my gorgeous cat pts today. The vet said it was the right thing to do and deep down I know it was but I feel so guilty for making the decision to end his life.

He gave me a hug and purred to the end. I keep expecting to see him walking round the house and it pains me that I won't see him again.

I hope you are holding up better than I am cos I am a wreck at the moment.

Sorry to read about your cat LoLo . Even though we knew he was never going to get better I felt guilty too , for actually making the decision. He didn't make a fuss and just lay down on his blanket and I keep thinking about that too .I'm doing the normal things but I feel so low in spirits and crying when I think about him . Do you have other cats ? I have 3 others , so have them to think about + it helps . Hoping we will both feel better soon .

I have another cat but she doesn't like cuddles and just isn't as friendly as my other cat. I have a dog too and I can tell that both of them are feeling lost too.

It sounds silly but I have been more upset about losing my cat than I was with some relatives. Think it's because he has been there for me every day for almost 16 years.

Hopefully we will get through this x
  • LoLo I was thinking just this afternoon the same thing . Our other cat was put to sleep 2yrs ago and with both of them the feelings of grief have been more than they were at losing some friends+ relatives . Don't mean that to sound terrible but had both cats from 6 weeks to 17 years . Feel pathetic at times to feel this way but we will both be ok , sometime , soon I hope x
  • i had floyde put to sleep on nov 20th and he was with me for nearly 22 years i have grieved as i have lost a person
